What is the fastest way off exit of the GCP W to get to Steinway St?

When you get off the first exit off the GCP it dumps you onto Astoria Blvd. It's 8 blocks to Steinway from there. If you really can't stand the eight blocks of traffic then take your first available right after the light at 34st street and take that down to 28th Avenue and take a left. That will dump you into Steinway. Honestly though, I can't imagine that will save you THAT much time. If it's just the other cars you despise then use this route. If it's the time, well, it's NYC and the lights take care of eating up your time.
