"An eastern lying neighborhood near open spaces"
Sterling Hills in Aurora is an eastern lying neighborhood which is close to many things. While you can't find much in this neighborhood other than homes, there are numerous businesses, restaurants, gas stations, and entertainment within just a short drive. It is also located just west of the Plains Conservation Center which is an educational facility teaching people about life on the plains. The Plains Conservation
Center offers classes and educational opportunities throughout the year for both children and adults.
Since this neighborhood lies so far east there is rarely traffic here. Tower Road can get a little backed up during rush hour but not bad like closer to town. Since there isn't much traffic it can be quieter, but Buckley Air Force base is located nearby so noise can be an issue for some. The base routinely flies fighter jets from here and although they are loud, they are very neat to watch. To my knowledge they don't fly at night.
Sterling Hills would be a nice place for families to live who want to be near it all, but still have peace and quiet and a country feel. The schools here are good and there is a nice community feel within the neighborhood.
