Moving from San Diego to Bay area

Hi all,
Because of career change I had to leave my ocean view condo in la Jolla neighborhood of sunny San Diego to move to San Francisco Bay area. So my expectations are really high.
My job is in Sunnyvale. I am single and my parents live with me half of the years. I am not a fan of suburban living. And I love the ocean. I like small cozy cities. Not like San Francisco.
Can you help me with my best options.
