Is Tehama St a safe place for 2 college girls to share an apartment?

The whole South of Market area has gotten much better over the years. I feel pretty safe walking alone during the daytime in most parts. I would be cautious at night though. The caveat with Tehama Street is that it is not a main street. It's almost an alley. I'm not sure which block(s) you're considering but often you will find that one block to the next can be very different. For Tehama, I would guess the more you go East, towards South Beach and downtown, the better it gets.
