"an urban playground for young professionals"
The Uptown District of Dallas, Texas is northwest of downtown and one of the fastest growing urban areas in Texas. This is one of the very few pedestrian-friendly areas in the downtown area with the Katy Trail hosting hundreds of joggers, strollers, in-line skaters, and bikers daily. If you want a more modern form of transportation, try the McKinney Avenue Trolley or the Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) rail or buses. This is one of the few places in Dallas where you can live comfortably without a car if you work close to a public transportation stop.
There are a number of wonderful dining options that border the Katy Trail itself, and all along McKinney Avenue. Love fresh seafood? S & D Oyster Company is my favorite and when you're ready for a greasy cheeseburger, Jake's Old Fashioned Hamburgers fills the bill and then some. There are also a number of sports bars in the area and this is one of the very best places to be for singles looking to hook-up, with a number of upscale clubs catering to the residents of the area. It's also just north of the West End entertainment district, where even more entertainment and fine dining options await you.
