"N. Missouri Avenue/Embert - Peoria, Illinois Hidden Gem"
We haved owned our home for more than 10 years on this street and love the "small town" feel of the neighborhood. Everyone speaks to one another whenever outdoors. The area is home to young couples and older residents who have lived on the street for many, many years. On a spring/summer evening it is common to see couples pushing their children in strollers, neighbors walking their dogs, and others jogging through the area. 99.9% of the homeowners have taken much pride in the "curb appeal" of their home and keep up with planting, landscaping, and other maintenance.
Although we are just a couple blocks down from War Memorial Drive near Knoxville, you wouldn't even know it. There is virtually no sound from the busy traffic due to all of the mature trees in the neighborhood. A lot of our neighbors like the fact that downtown Peoria is a short 5 minute drive. It's 5 minutes to Caterpillar, the Peoria Civic Center, and 2 of our fine hospital's; Methodist and OSF Saint Francis. Shopping is also just a few minutes away either heading up to the small shoppes in Peoria Heights or over to Bergners at Sheridan Village. There are many restaurants just a few minutes away too. Homes that have been listed in this area tend to sale within weeks and at an affordable price.
