"Diverse and Stimulating"
The South Tryon Street area of Charlotte is one of the fastest-growing neighborhoods in the city. I've lived in this area for over twenty years, from when it was little more than cow pastures and a grocery store or two, to now when development and growth has transformed this area into a neighborhood that has something for everyone. Although the traffic in Charlotte is notorious, South Tryon St. in the Steele Creek area is usually not hard to navigate, even during rush hour. That is surprising, considering its close proximity to I-485, I-77, I-85, and the airport. Housing ranges from quiet little subdivisions tucked away along the side streets, to attractive, new apartment buildings in the midst of the shopping and restaurants. Most of the restaurants are of the chain variety but some smaller pizza places, sub shops, and ethnic restaurants can be found in addition to Annabelles and IHOP. There aren't many bars or club-type venues directly in the neighborhood, but public transportation is easily accessible, and a short bus ride to the light rail stop and then a quick zip on the train can have you in downtown Charlotte in less than an hour.
