"San Leandro Washington Manor /Bon Air Neighborhood"
This is a great neighborhood close to freeway access and BART (10 minute bike ride). The Bay Trail is close for biking and exercise, and the neighborhoods are quiet and safe. This neighborhood has its own downtown with the potential to be a great spot for restaurants and coffee shops if the economics continue to improve in this neighborhood. This neighborhood is only 7 miles from Alameda and 12 miles from Oakland for great dining options. The houses are first generation track homes which are a little boring but many people have improved the homes with add-ons. There are big back yards, wide spacious streets and great public parks. This area is a quick bike ride/drive to Drakes and 21 Amendment breweries. Once 21 Amendment builds their restaurant there will be a great place to eat in close proximity. Kaiser Hospital is next to this neighborhood, and other big box stores are an easy drive away but not too close to effect traffic. These stores include Target, Home Depot, and Costco. The bonus of this neighborhood is that it is west of the 880 and the prevailing winds are from the north west making the air cleaner than most other East Bay neighborhoods. Buying a house in this neighborhood is worth a strong consideration especially for the price. This neighborhood is most likely undervalued by Bay Area Standards from an investment stand point.
