Hwy 12 East
"Highways built on top of each other. Freaky!!"
The Sebastopol Freeway is just as busy or busier than the Redwood Highway. There is one part of the Sebastopol Freeway that is just freaky and that is the part that meets the Redwood Highway. There are loops and loops of freeway roads built on top of each other. From an aerial view it can look pretty amazing. Sebastopol Freeway is an excellent freeway for commuters and traveling out of town. There is currently lot's of construction going on because of ongoing roadwork and repairs. Lane closures are quite frequent at times. It might just be easier to access Redwood Highway and hop on the less busier roads, even thought it might take longer to reach your destination. Always make sure that you drive with care on this freeway because traffic is chaotic at all times, even at night!

"The best apartment community in Santa Rosa"
Apple Creek Lane is apartment heaven. This is another great area for students, young professionals, retirees and people that just don't want to deal with the hassle of renting or owning a house. There are also some privately owned condos in this area as well. Apple Creek Lane is a square drive that extends over a lush grassy expanse. There is a community pool as well as plenty of parking spaces. I think this is a quiet place that is relatively free of the petty crimes that plague other apartment communities. The people are friendly and it is a place where all groups of people can live together to form a small and enjoyable community. Because most of the units are apartment buildings it does not get much color during Christmas and the odd condos out that are displayed kind of stick out like a sore thumb.

West 7th St
"The nightclub and bar district"
West 7th Street is a popular area for nightclubs and bars. Dress up in your trendy best during the weekends because everyone that hits this street and the surrounding area is dressed to impress. Some of the nightclubs have some outrageous cover charges. A lot of the bars and clubs have a special dress requirement which is usually formal. Parking at the bars is kind of limited but there is a big parking garage up on Adams Street which is within walking distance to West 7th street. It becomes residential with lot's of students and younger couples towards De Meo Park. This is a great area for the younger crowd. The road is sort of bumpy with quite a few potholes.

Barnes Rd
"You will feel as if you are in the Midwest"
Barnes Road is situated from the main roads of Santa Rosa. In fact Barnes Road is covered by fields and pastures which are used by farmers on both sides for the most part. Driving down this road will make one feel as if they are in the midwest with the exceptions of the mountain views to the North. I take this road quite often because I love the tranquility of the scenery and the smell of the fresh air. Street racing is a big hobby on some of these lesser traveled back roads. Although not legal it goes on quite a bit.

"Easy lifestyle living"
Hopper Avenue offers easy lifestyle living. There is a great park close by that is popular for dog lovers and it even has a mini golf course. I spent much of my childhood at the gold course with my friends learning the game of golf. The houses are all larger than most of the houses in Santa Rosa because they are Victorian. That also means they are older too, but most of them have kept their charm thanks to modern renovations. Real estate in this area is hot and well sought after. Growing up on Hopper Avenue was a great experience. I always had friends to help pass my time. I never ran into strangers. That might sound cliche but this really is a safe street that is well out of the reach from strangers. There is a great network system on this street to keep an eye on alert and suspicious things that may be happening. The street is large and offers plenty of room for side street parking if needed. If you do decide to live on this street you better love the holidays!

Terry Rd
"Simple road that is close to an awesome park!!!!!"
Terry Road is a simple road. The houses are all two story bungalow style. The road it a little narrow and there is no off street parking allowed whatsoever. The best part about Terry Road is it's close location to Bicentennial Park. The park is just right around the corner. Bicentennial park is a popular place for baseball games. I played their in junior high. The park is a great place to meet people and enjoy quality time with the family. The no fire rule is kind of a downer though because you can't have BBQ's. The people on Terry Road all seem friendly enough. It is a very typical middle class road that can be found in many cities throughout California.

Cleveland Ave
"Free wifi and plenty of places to eat"
There is free wifi on almost every block of Cleveland Avenue. All of the restaurants and fast food joints offer wifi for free which I think is awesome, since I always carry my laptop with me. It is nice to check email while I'm eating a burger. Cleveland Avenue is a fast paced street with all of the latest and most popular restaurants and other locations. During the weekends this place is over flowing with motorists our doing their weekend activities. It is also a quick and easy access to the Redwood Highway. It is very common to see out of state license plates at restaurants as they take quick breaks from their travels. The road got an overhaul in 2007 because parts of it were deteriorating pretty badly. Now the road itself is in pristine condition. This street is also very close to the popular Coddington Mall.

"Cheap living for students"
Richmond Drive is home to alot of students. It is a pretty safe street with lots of young people and can be quite active and vibrant at night. Most of the houses are older Victorian styled homes that are converted into smaller apartments. There are quite a few factories in the surrounding area which adds a little taste of the blue collar atmosphere. There are also a few hole in the wall bars in this area which are always overflowing with students and factory workers after they got done with their shift. I enjoy living in this area because it is cheap and I'm around people of my own age.

Franklin Ave
"Frankline Street is a chameleon"
Franklin Avenue is not your typical street. There are plenty of things to do on this street. Besides the residential houses, there are two parks and two cemeteries. One of the parks is the Santa Rosa Memorial Park which draws a lot of visitors from all over Santa Rosa. The cemeteries are also popular places for burials and visitors although only one of the cemeteries still receives active burials the other one does not bury people anymore. Because of the parks and cemeteries there is a lot of outside traffic that is drawn to this road. Parking at times can be a little complicated when there is lots of people so it is very common for cars to park in front of people's houses. The area is very green as well. Landscaping plays a big part in this area.

Redwood Hwy
"The connection to all of Santa Rosa"
Redwood Highway connects all of Santa Rosa. The highway is modern, fast and easy to head from point A to point B. I love fast paced driving so I feel at home at Redwood Highway. Plenty of vehicles drive at least ten over the speed limit. It is a very common sight to see vehicles pulled over at the curve by cops. This road cab be a little intimidation to people not from the area because it is so crowded and everyone seems to be in a hurry all the time. Redwood was recently reconstructed a few years back to pass safety inspections for earth quake standards.
