"lively neighborhood but abundant petty crime"
CONSTANT PETTY CRIME. Smashed windows, daily package thefts, stealing children's belongings like baby strollers.
Even baby strollers and baby toys will be stolen and even if they are kept in secured/gated areas. Thieves will hop over railing, enter garages, climb balconies to steal from residents. And, they don't care or are purposefully stealing from children and babies. It does seem that the locals or people who live close are taking from everyone else because who else would wheel a stroller out of a locked garage??
I have personally had almost $500 worth of packages stolen, I never order items now. It's almost a weekly event to find thief-opened boxes in the vesitbule of my apartment complex because theives open boxes and pick over their contents. Leaving the remainder of items they don't want in plain view and showing the purchaser that they 'shopped' through their purchases.
