"Park perks!"
Burholme is a place defined by its greenery and its park. It's a quiet nice place and the houses are in good shape, but the park is the most important part. It's a great place for kids, artists, photographers, everybody. There are a lot of festivals that offer a lot of interest.
Pros

"The best area of Philadelphia!"
This area is honestly the best in Philadelphia, I don't know how others could rate it so low. I've lived here for about seven years now and it's great. There's a park area in there (part of pennypack) and two of the best elementary/middle schools, Baldi & Greenburg. Both schools offer a great education and they also get a lot of equipment that most schools don't. I went to Greenburg myself and comparing it with Wilson middle school on Cottman, this one is amazing. The kids are actually worried about grades instead of buying drugs. Also, there's a movie theater on Grant Plaza smack dab in the middle of this area. It's nice because most people go to other theaters in the malls so it's never too packed. Also, there's a bunch of restaurants on the same plaza. On Krewstown plaza, there's more restaurants that are worth checking out along with some interesting clothing stores. The houses in this area are a little pricier, but if you can afford it, go for it! The schools are a big plus if you've got kids and the same with parks for kids.
Pros
- Great schools
- Clean and quiet
- Great for kids
- Largely residential
Cons
- Need a car to get places

"Busy Place with a pinch of everything"
Frankford takes a bad rap because it isn't the cleanest and yet it has a lot of people going through there. Honestly? It's a diamond in the rough. It has the look of a place that you might want to drive on through, but there's a lot worth stopping in for. First off, I would like to mention the great music store on the corner of cottman and frankford. The people who work there are really nice and have answered all my questions when I came in searching. They also sell a good selection of instruments without the price of most chain music stores. There's also a diner that deserves a mention that's right across the street from it. Great food. There's a lot of great stores to stop in, but on frankford you also have your convience stores and supermarket stores for those who have kids, it's great positioning. Also since it's an area where a lot of people pass through, you can be thankful that it has great public transportation. Septa has buses all over the place there and the frankford terminal not too far either. I can't say that the houses are something special, but it's a chance whether you'll be looking at something a little run down or something kept nice.
Pros
- Music shop nearby
- cheap
- close to public transit
