"Great Neighborhood to Live in!"
I live in the Sunset Acres subdivision. We're outside the Duncanville city limits, so the address of this neighborhood Dallas. This neighborhood is a great place to live. There's a mix of different kinds of families: singles, young married couples with children, middle aged people and retirees. Some of the homes were moved here when the interstate was put through the area of their previous location. Other homes were built 30 years ago or sooner. In the afternoon there are kids riding their bikes around the neighborhood, and in the evening people go out and walk their dogs.
The neighborhood is directly across the street from the International Linguistic Centers. A lot of the people in my neighborhood have lived for extended periods overseas. There are also some international families! There's a lot of coming and going, though. The neighborhood is transitional, especially because a lot of students from GIAL (located at the ILC) live in Sunset Acres. There's a family in the neighborhood with several sheep, goats and a llama.
A lot of the houses are duplexes with a room that can be closed off and rented as an efficiency apartment. This is a great situation for students. I myself, live in a converted garage apartment which is quite comfortable and affordable.
A negative experience living in this neighborhood happened several months ago. My roommate's car was broken into when it was parked right outside our house. The neighborhood isn't far from the interstate, so there's a lot of road noise in the background.
The nearest strip mall is about 4 miles away and has a Kroger. There's are some fast food restaurants in the area. Duncanville has some great restaurants like Los Lupes and Toshios. The traffic on Camp Wisdom Road is pretty heavy during times when kids are headed to school.
