"Nice street but not far from declining area"

Parkway Avenue is a green treelined street. It has the benefit of being near major major highways, the houses are visually appealing, and there are several young familes in the area. The families on the street have kept their properties up. However, it is very close to the border of a not-so-desirable area. If you were to cross the street and walk three blocks south, you would find yourself in a declining area.

"Near large park and shopping"

The house numbers on Prospect Street begin in Trenton, which is a very urban area and end in Ewing, a suburb. I lived on the Ewing end which was near a large park. It's a quiet peaceful neighborhood located near lots of shopping, public transportation, and decent public elementary schools. The downside is that the street begins in a not-so-good area, so when you tell someone you live on Prospect Street, you are liable to get a funny look.

"Quiet Surburban Street"

This street is in a clean quiet area. Most of the residents own and occupy small single family houses, although there is a trend toward college rentals in the area.

"Small side street"

This small street is set between two major urban streets. The only residences on it live in a large apartment complex which has mostly senior citizens and subsidized tenants.

"Busy urban street next to Trenton Train Station"

This once delining area has had a major facelift. It is close to major forms of transportation including a train station with direct lines into NY city.

"Decent block with an eyesore apartment building"

Beechwood Avenue is a treelined urban street with one large apartment building. Most of the residents of the apartment building are rent-subsidized tenants, and a substantial portion of them are not good neighbors (loud, disrespectful, etc).

"Improving, but not yet there"

This area has gone through a major renovation. Houses which were once falling apart are have been fixed up fro the inside out. The property values have increased. However, the economic status of the residents have hot changed much, and there are still several low income rentals in the area. Only time will tell if the home values continue to increase or fall again.

"Close to three popular colleges - Plus or Minus?"

Being close to several educational institutions is a plus if you or a family member is looking to go to college. However, our entire neighborhood in the beginning stages of changing from single family owner-occupied houses to college student rentals, and we have to deal with the occasional wild party on our block.
