"Gedney Farms Retirement Community would be a more accurate name"
The average age of people living in the Gedney Farms area is 60. Majority of homes are sold to retirees because the city taxes are low. No sign of intelligent life here. In a city that is about 50% white and 50% black or hispanic, this neighborhood is totally white. It's as though there's a segregation dividing line running along Bryant Avenue. South end of White Plains seems to be for whites only.
Pros
- quiet as a cemetery

"A moribund place where people are just passing through"
No sense of community, the city is a building developers' sandbox thanks to town hall

Cons
- no open green spaces; parks are just asphalt
- racially segregated
- town run by insiders for insiders
