"A great place to live, raise a family or retire...."

Barbourville is a beautiful town. It is the epitome of small town loveliness. There is a small college in town, two bed & breakfasts and 2 hotels/motels. The court square, yes I said court square, consists of several small businesses including clothing and pageant wear. It also has, of course, the Courthouse and lots of lawyers and accountants. A Redbud Festival is held in the spring of the year and all the downtown businesses have their windows painted in floral designs to complement the festival colors, traditional quilts are on display and for sale. In the fall, the town holds the Daniel Boone Festival which has been voted one of the best festivals in the state of Kentucky. The town officials re-enact the signing of the Cane Treaty over 150 years ago, all the windows on the Square are decorated in pioneer themes.

This is the kind of town people write books about. The crime rate is low, community spirit is great and its a very close knit town.

"Busy industrial street"

Narrow, busy street with lots of traffic. There are all types of business like attorneys offices, banks, manufacturing company, funeral home and even a livestock market. There is only one gas station on this street. Also, about 1 mile down the street there is a railroad track that ties up traffic for 10-15 minutes at least twice a day (usually between the hours of 10-11 and 12-1 and 4-5). Toward the end of the street, you will find a residential area with lots of really beautiful houses and flat farmland.
