"Good retirement community, not a place for young people"
Piedmont, is a small town with one stop light! (it made the front page of the local paper when it was put in about 5 years ago!)
There are few places to eat other than the norm sonic, MacDonald's, and a few small diners.
During the sumer the big attraction is Clearwater lake which is about 10 miles away a lot of people come here to boat on the lake and camp at the campground. Also during summer there is a old time drive-in movie theater that you can sit in your car and watch movies (its not that good unless its a dark night with no moonlight but still a experience)
It does have two grocery stores and a very small wal-mart.
The whole town pretty much closes at 10 pm except the gas stations and a few bars.
There is not much to do for young people in the community besides sit in the parking lots and talk or go out into the country and throw parties. The town has some pretty scenery the canyon (some cool waterfalls and rock formations) lots of woods, and the creeks and black river is close by (a good place to go swimming). Sam A Baker state park is pretty close also, has lots of hiking trails and swimming spots and places to go camping.
