"An up and coming street with major development planned in the next few years."

North Collington Avenue in Baltimore, MD is an up and coming area that has seen an increase in existing home sales. In addition to this a couple dozen new homes are in the planning and building phase. Although not one of the "hip" neighborhoods such as Canton, Fells Point, or Federal Hill. Butchers Hill is worth taking a serious look at if you want to see value for your dollar in the housing market. Most of the homes are at least 13 feet wide which gives it more of a traditional house feel since the rooms are more square than rectangle as most homes in other areas of the city. It is also much quieter than other neighborhoods due to the lack of bars open until 2 am. Although crime is a problem, as it is in most parts of Baltimore, it is still lower that the popular neighborhoods by percent. Nearby is the Patterson Park which is the city's largest park and serves as a great area to walk your dog (or yourself) as well as many other popular out door activities. Johns Hopkins Hospital is only a few blocks away which is great for medical treatment or employment (I believe it is the largest private employer in Maryland). Additionally public transit is quick and nearby. Bus lines run at the south and north points of the neighborhood as well as the Metro at nearby Johns Hopkins Hospital. I would suggest taking these in lieu of paying $12 or more for parking downtown or sporting events. I feel confident and happy to be living in such and up and coming area that will quickly become one of the more popular places to live in Baltimore City
