"Very clean and family friendly, could have a better spirit though"
Just a good example of a Sunny Isles overview, I've participated in 4 talent shows for the city, and every time, it's these young Russian girls in their dance group who win, or groups of kids overall. Sunny Isles is about good publicity it seems, and making parents happy. So in a way, it's fake. Many people who live here are no better, and snobby, with sugar daddies, driving in the most showy cars and with the most showy brands.
Besides thaaaat, the other people are nicer than most of Miami's people. It's quiet here, and there are many places to meet up with friends. Starbucks is very popular to go to, and people love to people watch there and be seen. There are tourists, but most people seem to either be residents there or have a vacation condo there. Many people are super wealthy, and then you have the opposite, where employees of the resorts there etc reside in the apartments. the K-8 school I've heard is amazing. To conclude, it's a nice place for families, is close to malls, movies, bowling allies, casinos, is on the beach, and is for the higher end crowd.

"Everything can improve a bit, but nice overall"
It's not quiet. You will get used to hearing parties from 10am-12am, lots of honking, and cars and motorcyclists. It is nice though how you can go from one side of town to the next, and it can be extremely peaceful and calm, with trees in the breeze and paths along the bay. Thanks to all the high rises, the city has a good amount of shade, and it's pretty safe in terms of taking walks by yourself, at night, jogging, etc (this is typically geared towards women by themselves). But, there will always be pervs wherever you go in life, and yes they have some there too. Homeless people are a handful, but not dangerous (at least from my experiences so far). They keep to themselves but can be indecent because yes, they smell up the city here and there. Overall though, don't picture a city that smells with a bunch of creeps and homeless people, it's not like that. As for parks and food options, there are honestly some of the prettiest views I've ever seen. They have all price types for dining there, though shops are not the same--they're mostly high end. There are malls within 15 minute drives and many other stores even walking distance in the neighboring cities like Wynwood and Downtown Miami. It's close to the beach too, though traffic can turn a 10 minute drive to a 30 minute drive.
