"South Park Hill, Denver's Best Neighborhood"
I'm a home owner here in South Park Hill, and also a real estate professional that specializes in the area, so I will try not to be too biased .
Park Hill is one of Denver's oldest and most beautiful neighborhoods. One of the distinguishing characteristics of Park Hill, particularly the southern part, are the 100 year old trees that line the streets and boulevards. Because of all this shade, its known as Denver's "coolest" neighborhoods.
Park Hill has a very friendly community. During the summer months it is quite common to see block parties where neighbors get together and close off a street for a few hours.
Park Hill feeds into some of the best schools in Denver, such as East High School as well as schools in Stapleton.
The real estate in Park Hill is historic and diverse. Most of the homes in the southern area were built in the early 1900's and resemble some of the unique styles of the time, such as the Tudor Revival and Craftsman Bungalow. For more on Pro Hill architecture, see my website: www.parkhillpro.com
Being next to City Park offers a lot of great options. As others have mentioned, there is a Jazz Festival held here in the summer every year. City Park is also home to the Denver Museum of Natural Science and the Denver Zoo. City Park Golf Course is also here (but will be under construction until 2019)
Shopping in the area is great. Aside from the little neighborhood shops inside Park Hill, there's also a variety of restaurants and bars along Colfax, which has been seeing a lot of redevelopment lately.
Overall, its one of Denver's most desirable neighborhoods, which is also reflected by it's double digit annual home appreciation!
