"A Beautiful neighborhood"

This is a great place to live if you have the money for it! The homes on this street are huge and often very nice. I have known a few people who lived on this street. It is nestled back into a nice quiet neighborhood in east Memphis. There are often families with children living on this street and surrounding ones. Close to great schools and the Oak Court Mall. While the houses are big, the land plots are large enough where you don't feel as though you are living right on your neighbor's property line. Definitely a street to live on, or at least drive down wishing you lived on it.

"Nice midtown street"

One of my friends lived on this street. The houses are all unique and very beautiful. If you want to live in Midtown, I recommend this street. The neighbors seem to know each other, and there are often people riding bikes and walking. If you want to live in Memphis, but don't want to live downtown in a condo, or in east Memphis in a new zero-lot house, then this neighborhood is a good place to look. It is near Idewild church as well as a Country Club.

"Fun place to visit"

Young is a great place to live if you like going to bars and hip places to hang out. A younger person (18-35) would find this street a lot of fun to live on. Typically there are artsy types living around here. It overflows with the stereotypical "midtown vibe." The houses, or at least the ones I have seen, are not luxury houses. And the safety around here might be a little questionable. However, since it is such a popular place to go at night, there are often several cops nearby. Art galleries, funky coffee shops, eclectic restaurants, as well as interesting stores are all located nearby.

"A busy street"

S Mendenhall connects Poplar to Walnut Grove. There are lots of businesses on this road, but it also contains some residential areas. Traffic on this street can be bad during rush hour, but its convenience sometimes outweighs it. Watch when going over the railroad tracks! If you are driving too fast, your car will take a beating. Several restaurants line this road since it is directly off of Poplar. As you get closer to Walnut Grove, the street is more and more residential. This can be a great place for people to live if they like the schools and atmosphere of the place. I would recommend, however, living on a street that is connected to Mendenhall instead of actually living on this street.

"Major road of Memphis"

Walnut Grove extends from Midtown to the suburbs of Memphis. It is mainly residential with homes ranging from inexpensive to quite large and expensive homes. There is a lot of traffic on this street as it is one of the main roads connecting east Memphis and the suburbs to midtown and downtown. There are some very nice private schools located on this street, and further west, one can find the main library of Memphis. While there is traffic, and often times construction, that doesn't stop people from walking their dogs or going for runs. This street has such variety.

"Subdivision in East Memphis"

This street is a very quiet street located to some great places for shopping and eating. The Racquet Club of Memphis is just up the street (about a 5 minute walk). The traffic on this street is not bad, but there is a narrow hill where you cant see if someone is coming over it. Make sure to slow down and watch out! The reason I didn't give it 4 or 5 stars is because I personally don't like the subdivision style. Mainly couples or retirees would live here.

"Quiet residential street"

This street is a great place to live if you are wanting to live in Germantown. It is close to Poplar Ave, Germantown Road, as well as Farmington. However, it is set far enough away to not hear any street noise. If you love shopping, Saddle Creek shopping center is only about two blocks away. There is a police station nearby, so you know that you are safe. The street seems to consist of mainly families with kids, but retired persons or couples could feel comfortable here too.

"From Midtown to Downtown"

Union Ave begins at the Mississippi River and continues to Midtown. There are some houses on the street, but most residences are apartments. Union runs right though the artsy district of town, so people who love going to plays and movies would love to live around here. Further downtown, the street passes through the medical area of town, with hospitals and research centers on either side. Traffic is a slow 35 mph, and with no turn lanes, it can become congested.

"You can find everything"

Poplar is one of the streets that stretches the entire length of Memphis. It starts in downtown and then continues even out of state. Along Poplar Ave one can find plenty of shops and restaurants, as well as nightlife. One should be careful, however, driving on Poplar because the street lanes are very narrow compared to most other lanes. I wouldn't recommend driving a large truck on this street unless you are very comfortable driving it. While traffic can become congested during rush hour; typically, the street maintains a good traffic flow. Towards Germantown, you can find some houses on Poplar, however it is mostly a business road.

"A great street to live"

Cole Road is in East Memphis, which means that it is surrounded by plenty of good restaurants, shopping opportunities, and some of the best schools in the Memphis area. The street itself is very quiet and shady, however, there are busy streets running perpendicular too it (such as White Station and Mendenhall). The neighbors are always nice, and you can often see them walking their dogs or going on runs. There is a good mix of people living on this street, including families with kids (because of the good schools), couples, and retirees. There is some new construction going on, but the street also have a variety of homes built around the 1950's.
