Brea Blvd is the main artery through Brea CA. Diamond Bar to the North and Fullerton to the South offers even more opportunities if you can't find what you're looking for in Brea. Commerce St. in Tujunga CA was once a thriving shopping district. When American shopping habits changed in the last quarter of the 20th Century the area began to decline. Luckily there are no boarded up buildings, although small manufacturing has taken over from retail. The historic Tujunga Drug Store built in 1914 was deemed unsalvageable and torn down. Many building on the street have a long history. Ask any old timer and he will tell you a story.

Montrose St. in Los Angeles is destination for shoppers who are looking for the out of the ordinary. No outlet malls or fast food here. The Montrose shopping center was created by a coalition of independent merchants. Shops offer a wide variety of products from books to clothing to specialty leathers. Each June the tree lined street hosts an arts and craft festival. And during the holidays horses decked out for the season are available for rides.

Oro Vista St. is close to schools, gas stations, and grocery stores. Centrally located off of Foothill Blvd. its a good street for families with children. Oro Vista may be the farthest north you can go in Los Angeles without leaving the city. When following the street north you will eventually find yourself on steep mountainous paths. The brave traveler who doesn't turn back will come out on the other side of the mountains in the Mojave desert.

Esteban St. is close to Freeways and all the advantages of living in a big city. But as soon as you turn on to the street its easy to forget that you're in a city at all. The houses are nestled on the side of steep foothills. Many are terraced. Unlike many developments in the Los Angeles area the houses on Esteban St. were built by individuals. Each one is unique. Many were build with the views in mind. They over hang dramatic vistas.

Haines Canyon Blvd once known as Horse Thief Pass retains much of its wild west appeal. The winding residential road is home to a wide variety of architectural styles. As the road climbs up into the foothills the views of Glendale are breathtaking, especially at sunset. The street offers a wide variety of services from fast food and shopping at its western end to a quiet residential neighborhood at its runs east.

La Tuna Canyon Rd winds through the Angeles Crest National Reserve. The steep hills are a favorite of serious bicyclist looking for a strenuous work out on the steep hills. This protected land has very little development and spectacular views of nature. La Tuna Canyon Rd is connects North Glendale and Los Angeles with North Hollywood. Visitors to the area are often surprised by the swatch of untouched nature in the middle of such an urban area.

Creemore Drive in Tujunga CA is close enough to the 210 Freeway to be convenient for commuters but not so close that you are disturbed by the sounds of traffic. The peaceful tree lined and well manicured street offers friendly neighbors and great city services. It is within walking distance of grocery and drug stores. Numerous restaurants and other services are in the area.

Foothill Blvd is the main thoroughfare through the northern section of Los Angeles. The street offers a wide variety of shopping and dining choices. As Foothill Blvd passes through Sunland the hills grow steep and trees abound. The area was originally reserved for ranching and the area retains much of this flavor. Many homes have corralled horses. There is even a feed and tackle shop. Although Foothill is a busy road without sidewalks. Many of the side streets make for excellent hikes through the hills.

Tujunga Canyon Blvd is located off the 210 Freeway north of Burbank. While the street suffers from rush hour congestion, it is an excellent location for commuters who work in the San Fernando Valley, Pasadena, or even downtown Los Angeles. Tujunga Canyon Blvd connects with La Tuna Canyon Blvd. which winds through the Angeles Crest Nature Preserve. This protected land is majestic and offers many hiking opportunities. The occasional coyote howling at the moon adds to the charm of the street.
