"A town where your children can play outside without worry"
I am 33 years old and I have lived in Grand Forks, ND all my life. Now, when you first hear the name North Dakota, most people who are not from here immediately envision a wide prairie filled with cowboys and indians. Actually, the prairie part is pretty accurate, but believe it or not we actually are part of the 21st century up here! Grand Forks is the third largest city in the state with a population of just over 50,000. There isn't any one industry that dominates the job scene so it is nicely spread throughout the technological, industrial and retail sectors. The city itself is very clean and safe, although the winter months do get to be a bit long when the temperature drops below freezing for 5 months in a row. Although the nightlife isn't anything compared to a metropolitan area, there is a nice collection of bars and restaurants to choose from.
