"Don't be Deceived. "Methadone Mile" is what locals call Mass Ave."

Real Estate agents like to hype "gentrification" and omit that this is the southeast corner of the South End, i.e. the worst part of the South End. As Boston Medical Center (The Ghetto Hospital of Boston) is right across the street, and is surrounded by all of Bostons drug clinics, rehabs, half way houses, womens shelters, homeless shelters, drug addict shelters etc etc. Residents here nervously dart in and out of their $3,000 pr month rent apartments or $million condos in beautiful Victorian Brownstones, dodging homeless people and drug addicts who do drugs, loiter, litter, relieve themselves on our doorsteps. Right after moving in, a homeless man stole the rain gutters off the neighbors building. The building across the street caught on fire because of House Code violations. My car was broken into. Parking is difficult because they do street cleaning every Monday and Tuesday evening on Harrison Ave, and every Thursday on side streets. Added condo development construction often takes up 3 streets of resident parking, so we drive around in circles for sometimes an hour just trying to park. Then after parking, you have to be on guard, to dodge the homeless drug addicts approaching you/following you. I believe that SpotCrime lists at least 10 crimes per day within a mile radius. 42 Worcester Square has a leaking roof, which has caused toxic black mold to grow throughout residents air ducts. There isn't a single weather tight window, door, wall, floor, or ceiling in the entire building, thus leading to insane electric bills. Many of these buildings are rotting from the inside out, and tilting off their foundations/sinking. One earthquake, and bye bye. After 2 winters with no heat, the City Housing and Building inspectors came but did very little. Residents suspect that the landlords pay off $bribes to city officials to overlook necessary repairs. Questions/Inquiries sent to the Worcester Square Association go unanswered. Real Estate agents lie. Slumlords behind pretty facades.
