"Mayfair maybe great!"
Mayfair is an undiscovered gem in Washington, D.C. The neighborhood is amazing and I am constantly meeting new neighbors, friends, and people who have lived here for generations. My heart always breaks when I hear that east of the river is a terrible place to live. Yes, there's crime here in Mayfair, but there's crime all over the city. You shouldn't judge a book by its cover-There are a lot of empty land plots in the process of being developed and invested in. I imagine within the next year or two the neighborhood will start to see some dramatic changes- especially with the metro stop being so close. This neighborhood has no where to go but up. I wish there was a hospital closer, a better grocery store option than the safeway off Minnesota that sells rotten vegetables, and an upgrade to the CVS that smells like urine upon entering. The neighborhood itself is a gateway to the city. There are trails galore and a short bike ride to the street car stop on Oklahoma. I can't wait to see what the future will bring to Mayfair
