"Great for families"
Sterling Heights is a great city for families. There are always big city events like Sterling Fest in the summer and the big event in the winter. At the holiday event there is entertainment, sleigh rides, hot cocoa and cookies. Sterling Fest always has a big name performer, such as Journey, Bob Segar, etc. There are rides for the kids, a balloon release, and fireworks at the end of the night.
The schools are split between Warren Consolidated and Utica districts. Both of these are good, though I would say Utica is better. The city services are great, there is a huge public library with a large children’s section complete with a puppet show stage.
As far as restaurants there are the major chains with some mom and pop places scattered in between. Lakeside Mall is a large shopping mall located at the northern end of the city. This mall has pretty much any store you could want located in it’s two stories.
