"A quiet little town great for raising a family or retiring."
Piggott is a small town in the northeast corner of Arkansas. The 1957 film, "A Face in the Crowd", starring Andy Griffith, was filmed on location in Piggott, Arkansas. That is only a small piece of this towns history. Every year, the Clay County Fair is hosted in Piggott. While there are no nightclubs or bars, as it is located in a dry county, there is a park (Heritage Park) for younger children to play while the adults walk and get their exercise. There is a gym for those who wish to get fit and stay fit. The Piggott Public Library offers a summer reading program for the children. There is also a public pool that opens in the summer that provides swimming lessons for children as well as adults. If you like to watch movies, there are a few movie rental stores. There are a few family-owned restaraunts, pizza places, and fast food. This town also includes a hospital and a medical clinic. There are not many jobs in Piggott, so many commute if they choose not to work in a small factory or fast food. Lawyers, dentists, doctors, and private contractors are prominent. The prices of homes in this area are reasonable. The crime rate is very low and the law enforcement officers are friendly and respectable. Although not a good place to take a vacation, due to lack of resources to keep you busy on a vacation, this is a safe and quiet town to raise a family or to retire.
