"Cleveland: The Good, The Bad, and The Nostalgic"
I grew up right around Lorain Avenue and still frequent the area at least once a week. My friends and parents still live in the old stomping grounds and although I moved about 30 minutes away, the neighborhood around Lorain Avenue is still my home. It has good features, bad features and the features you will never forget! These are a few of my favorite features of the Lorain Road area:
The ability to Walk into any business and be greeted with smiles by average people who don't look down on you if you drive a car made before 2000. The neighbors that wave at you even if you never met them before. The billboards on every corner. Flickering street lights that either have a bad wire or a loose bulb. I love the occasional road made with hand formed bricks. Orange barrel season that never really ends, just moves a few blocks over. The scrap trucks that religiously patrol the streets on garbage day looking for metal. The garbage men who will jam anything into those trucks for a cold pop. Ice cream trucks and the all too familiar "pop goes the weasel" and other childhood songs. The ambulance that drives around on Halloween playing the Halloween theme song! Century homes that if spoke, would tell stories you'd probably never believe. The sound of airplanes and the rattling of windows if you are lucky enough to live in that century home. Telephone poles covered in staples from garage sales and lost dog posters past. Streets with so many patches there probably isn't a bit of original asphalt left. Staple restaurants like George's Kitchen, Dimitri's, and Famous Gyro George. Ice skating at Halloran park. The people that have a yard sale everyday, but swear it's not a business. W110 McDonald's and the seagulls that will attack you for your fries. The guy that cleans the parking lot at W110 McDonald's who yells at you for feeding the birds.
There are so many more great and not so great things about this area. You truly have to visit for a few months to get even a taste of the diversity and warmth Lorain Avenue has to offer.

Great description. North of the 90 and between 100th to 80th, on a scale of 1-10, 10 being absolutely too dangerous to live, where would you rank those streets?
