"Incline's Riviera"
Lakeshore Boulevard is a grand promenade with a mix of older homes and new, beautifully finished Tahoe homes, many with rustic craftsman detail and shingle style exteriors. If you want to rub elbows with the Duffields and Sorensons while jogging down the bike path, Lakeshore is the place to be. Although pretense is not espoused in this laid back environment, where everyone says "hi". In the summer, you can walk to Incline's two private beaches, one with an outdoor pool. There are volleyball courts, barbeque pits and playgrounds both at Burnt Cedar and Incline Beach, and a boat launch at Ski Beach, just past Incline Beach and before the Hyatt. You can sit out at the Hyatt Pier on Thursday nights watching boats come in and listening to live music. The shorefront in Incline is private, so there are no restaurants or stores like Kings Beach or Tahoe City, other than the Lone Eagle at the Hyatt. Homes here have been an excellent investment over the past 40 years, with a tear down starting above $1 million, and a nice, move-in condition home starting close to $2 million. Lakefront Estates have sold for close to $30 million on this exclusive stretch of shoreline, yet many homes are still modest. This is a fun place to be during the summer with lots of events over the Fourth of July- a boat parade, fireworks, and family fun, and a bit quieter in winter, except for holidays and busy weekends.
