"Affordable but not glamorous"
This area of San Pedro has some very affordable apartments and reasonably priced places to eat and shop but is not the most glamorous, well kept place to live. The streets are a bit dirty with litter scattered and cracked sidewalks. Stores are for the most part old, ma and pop type but there are also grocery and drug stores nearby. The area has a moderate crime rate but is safer than many areas in LA. There is a large variety of people who reside here, families, retirees, etc.. The people are generally nice and friendly and many who live here have called San Pedro home for many years. The beach is not far and beautiful Palos Verdes is just a short trip up the hill. For the most part, San Pedro is a ok place to live and Park Western may not be the most beautiful street to live on but has some very affordable choices to make your home.

"Great place for retired adults looking for a quiet, peaceful and safe place to live"
I lived here with my Grandparents for 3 years and found it to be quiet, peaceful and quite beautiful considering we were among million dollar homes. There are many older adults in the area but also quite a few families as well. Many people own horses and reside on large pieces of land with stables. The canyons are beautiful but also make cell phone reception difficult. I love PV and go back to visit my grandparents whenever I need to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life.
