Van Buren
"Life on the Current River"
Van Buren is a small town with a population of 845 but due to its location on the Current River it is one of my favorite towns. The current river is a rock bottom river so it is the clearest water you will ever see.
There are a lot of fun outdoor activates to be found in Van Buren such as hunting, fishing, camping and floating on the Current. Visitors from all over the country come to visit the world's largest natural spring at Big Spring's State Park. Which happens to be where the current river starts.
There are many accommodations in Van Buren ranging from camping by the river or renting a house on the river for a week. The Jolly Cone is in the heart of the town and offers the best burgers and ice cream cones I have had. The most beautiful view in Van Buren is from the Expanded Horizons restaurant on Skyline Drive. Unfortunately they are only open on the weekends but the view is spectacular.
