Does Wappingers Falls ever experience bad flooding from the creek?

A good storm/hurricane can make any creek overflow, and Wappinger Creek is no exception. Local roads were a mess after Hurricane Irene, but local police, EMTs, rescue crews, etc were out in force helping residents cope. If you worry about flooding, find a place to live on higher ground and stock up before storms!
