You have a lot more space and a lot more green for what you're paying in Washington Heights. But, it's not exactly a nice or popular neighborhood -- which is why it's so cheap. Transportation is pretty dismal up this far and every day conveniences like a nice market, shops and restaurants aren't found with ease. It's not the safest or prettiest part of town either. Basically, you get a bigger apartment but that's about it. There's no nightlife to speak of. I wouldn't want to live this far north. It's too much of a pain to get anywhere and it creeps me out after dark.
