What's it like for white people living in the neighborhood now?
My fiancee and I have been looking at some of the rowhomes in that area, and having noticed the obvious African American population we wondered how we would be received, being maybe the only white people on the block. I know I've heard from a lot of people that it almost wasn't safe for white people back in the 1970's, but what's it like now? I don't expect the community to throw their hugs out necessarily, but would we be able to make friends with our neighbors? Is our home going to be vandalized? I know race is still a tough issue in some parts of the city.
