Would you recommend the West Village neighborhood in New York City for singles?

It's a little bit sleepier than, say, the East Village, but that's because it's so expensive so the demographic tends to be older people or people that are established writers, actors, etc. I think it's great for the single scene. I met my person at Tavern on Jane. Plus, the neighborhoods are so on top of each other, another energy all together is within a few blocks.
