"A small agricultural town in northeastern Colorado"
The small town of Wiggins has only 895 residents and lies along the I-76 corridor just west of Fort Morgan. Many of the homes in town are on the smaller size and are on roads that aren't paved. There isn't much in the town of Wiggins outside of grain elevators, a few churches, a bank, auto parts store, hardware store, and a small tavern. For shopping or dining, residents need to travel to Fort Morgan, which is only about 16 minutes away. Fort Morgan is a town of about 11,500 residents so although it's not huge, it does have many more options than Wiggins does. For big shopping trips Denver is only an hour away.
The schools in Wiggins are all above average when it comes to state testing standards. The buildings are made of brick and all look nice, with large playgrounds for the kids. Also for the kids, there is a baseball park in town with a park.
The median household income in Wiggins is $44,982 which is about $10,000 less than the state average. However, home prices here are lower as well and you can get an average priced home for around $140,892. In the outer lying areas of Wiggins, there are bigger, nicer homes than in town which are on some acreage and can go for much more than the average.
The most common industry in Wiggins is agriculture, forestry, fishing and hunting. Wiggins is located right by Empire Reservoir which has an abundance of fishing and recreational options.
The crime rate in Wiggins is one of the lowest I've seen, with some years there being no crime whatsoever.

"Wiggins -- agricultural town along I-76 just west of Fort Morgan"
Wiggins is an agricultural community along the Platte River comprising about 800 residents. Wiggins is just west of Fort Morgan and in the heart of farm country along the river valley of northeastern Colorado. People here have a love for land, horses, cattle, hunting, fishing and farming. The town was originally founded as a railroad depot called Corona in 1882. Parts of the original buildings of Corona are still found on the north side of the existing railroad tracks in Wiggins.
With an average household income of $33,000 homes are surprisingly expensive. New homes are being built or have recently been built in town, nice 2 1/2 acre lots with 4 bedroom brick modern homes that go for about $425,000. There are a lot of homes in town, older structures that go for on average $125,000. Wiggins also has its far share of trailers and some of those structures and properties go for as little as $50,000.
The Wiggins School District has a good reputation and like most northeast Colorado farming communities sports in one of the main highlights of town. The team mascot is the Tiger. The public school system includes Wiggins Elementary School, Wiggins Middle School and Wiggins High School.
Fort Morgan is just a few miles to the east and provides Wiggin residents with a place for shopping and business. The town is just to the south of I-76 and there are a lot of residents involved with the trucking industry that goes hand in hand with the interstate.
