"Acreage living...Close in, but acres away."
We love our street, our homes on acreage and the neighbors! Whether its a family with kids & large dogs, or grandparents with room for the grandkids to play, or having a "hobby farm" or being able to tend a vegetable garden, we've got it all! We've got gated "estate homes" and though there has been a "5 acre minimum" for years, some older homes may have lot sizes as small as a 1/2 acre. One can find alpacas, chickens, beef cows, horses, tractors & the occassional dirt bike "living" on our street.
156th is a great street for walking or jogging... from stop sign to stop sign you've walked one mile. Keep going to the next stop sign and you've walked another mile. Turn around and go back and you've slipped in a little 4 mile jaunt. Though it feels like we're in the country, the excercise club is only 5 minutes away for a real work out.
We're close enough in that you can get to the Sounder Train and be in Seattle within the hour. Or, hop on the I-5 interstate and park yourself in downtown Seattle in about 45 minutes. - Ready for an excellent steak & show at the 5th Avenue Theater!
The new Kent Station and all it's fabulous restaurants is only 10 minutes away, as well as golfing, parks, Lake Meridian (one of 3 boating lakes around) and schools. You can visit Lake Washington in only 20 minutes, by heading to Coullon Beach Park. You want mountains? Just head east instead of west for about 30 minutes.
Kent is a great place to live, and SE 156th is close to all that Kent has to offer. But for those of us who live ON 156th? We think there's no better place to live!
