"Green, but not inviting"
I lived on 6th Ave. NE for a while and, while it was a relatively quiet and green street, there were several factors that made the area less than inviting. The proximity to Northgate Mall was nice, but the traffic in the area made getting there an adventure at times. At one point, a friend was visiting and someone drove by and tried to get her son to get into the car with him, making me feel like this was not the safest area in the city. Traffic on the north end of Seattle is always very clogged, especially on I-5 since it's serving the Everett and Lynnwood traffic, too. The neighbors generally keep to themselves and the area doesn't have a good 'community' feel to it, but the homes are fairly well kept up. Overall, I think the area needs more attention in the way of safety measures, whether that is from the police or local resident neighborhood watch programs, and is great for people that don't really want to interact with their neighbors.
