"A double-ended cul-de-sac"
81st Street is a quiet street just inside the boundaries of Oakbrook, but with quick access to the main roads (via Steilacoom Boulevard). It is about a third of a mile long and has a cul-de-sac at both ends, so the only traffic on the road is from residents. Children can walk, ride their bikes and scooters or play freely in the street except around dinner time when many folks come home.
A grocery store less than a mile away and nearby shopping centers provide most of what you will need. Lakewood Towne Center is only about 8 minutes away by car.
The lawns and landscaping on the street are mostly well-kept, and there is a friendly, neighborly feel to the street -- people walk up and down and talk to each other as they get their mail or work on their yards.
The street is racially and generationally mixed, with mostly three- and four-bedroom homes valued in the upper $200K and lower $300K ranges.
