82nd St
"On 82nd Street"
On 82nd Street is filled with small service oriented businesses. Mainly residential, this street and this neighborhood had a lot of great offerings and a nice feel, but it was a little dirty and slightly busy. The street is well connected, with buses and metros running throughout the neighborhood. All in all, I liked this street and think it should be considered on your move to Brooklyn.

"Great neighborhood with lots to see and do!"
I use to live off of 82nd street around 13th ave. I loved growing up there as a kid. I would say there were about 20 kids just on my block. I always felt safe there and it was said when I moved after living on that block for 16 years!
Summer time was the best. St.Bernadette's Church and school were I went were right at the corner of my block. You had Tasty Pastry, which has the best Italian pastries and Italian ice around. I still travel every year from a different state just to eat the pastries from there. It seems like everything is in walking distant. For example: Dyker Park, 86th street under the L where you can do A LOT of your shopping for clothes and speciality foods, butchers, medical doctors etc.
The neighborhood was friendly, family oriented, and safe. Many famous people came from this area too! Also, in my opinion the school system is great as well!
