"Best shopping in Los Angeles"
Abbot Kinney is like Melrose but better. It's a few blocks from the beach in a really cute area of Venice. It perpetually has an ocean breeze and there is all sorts of people watching on this street. And, seriously, every kind of shop.
There are a couple of salons, a skin care place, two massage joints (one of them is an awesome Thai massage joint) and a pilates center all within a few blocks on this street. There's even an acupuncture center on this street, but I guess that shouldn't be surprising considering this is Venice beach we're talking about.
There has to be about 15 housing ware and home decorating stores on this street. They run across the board on what they sell but they're all really cool and really expensive. There's also a gallery on Abbot Kinney if you're into buying really expensive art with your new decor. There is even a store just for Patio furniture so there is really every base covered.
And the clothing stores, oh the clothing stores! There are a million on this little street and they are great. Undrest, Madley, and Bohemian Exchange are my favorites. Nothing is exactly cheap on this street but every store is unique and great.
You can have the best day of all time and never leave Abbot Kinney. Start the day off with a massage, buy all kinds of beautiful things that you can't afford and then have lunch at the urth caffe and people watch for hours. It is Venice, afterall, there are some characters on the streets.
