Overall, is Alexandria a safe place?

I've lived in Alexandria for a while now, and I can say for sure that Alexandria is not threatening at all. I lived in Chicago for a short while, and while I didn't live in a dangerous neighborhood there, I still felt at risk at times. This is never the case in Alexandria. There's seriously little crime. Even compared to the rest of Kentucky it's super safe.
