Bammel Rd
"always so busy"
Thankfully, I worked on the "quieter" side of FM-1960 because from 249 to i-45 is just a wreck. There are apartment complexes and all kinds of businesses including head shops, restaurants, and other worn down buildings. It usually is the fastest way if you are headed toward i-45, but I avoid it as much as I can. The traffic is always bad, no matter what time of day, and the construction just makes it worse.

"Main street throughout most of Northwest Houston"
The stretch of 1960 from 290 until I-45 is littered with apartment complexes, restaurants (both sit down and fast food,) malls, retail outlets, and a whole lot of traffic. It is loud and busy, with a few nightclubs peppering the side streets, and a crime rate that increases the further eastbound you go. The apartment complexes range from incredibly nice to incredibly ghetto, and the drivers are typical Houston impatient jerks.
