Any tips from locals for finding an apartment in Carnegie Hill, New York City?

Craigslist really is the best resource for finding an apartment in the city. But, seeing as brokers are really hard to avoid in Manhattan, you can also go directly to their sites. Citihabitats and Bond are two of the biggest. And, they have their complete listings online.
