Catalpa Way, Glen Eden

Catalpa Way is a street that has a strong Mexican presence. California has been experiencing immigration for years, especially from Mexico. Catalpa Way though is established mainly by Mexican families that are probably on their second and even third generation families. The cultural aspect of Mexican life is especially visible in many of the yards. Almost every other house has some form of image that is dedicated to St. Guadeloupe. I love Mexican food and when you are driving down this street the smells coming from the house will make your eyes water and your stomach rumble. The cultural and historical dynamics of Catalpa Way are probably one of the things that make the street stand out.
