Is there any place to swim in Cold Spring?

Thirty years ago I wouldn't have said this, but the river is clean enough to swim now. You can swim off Little Stony Point, just outside Cold Spring heading toward Beacon, where there is a beach. Just realize there are no lifeguards, so you swim at your own risk. You can also go to Canopus Lake, in Fahnestock Park, which has a very nice beach with lifeguards and a designated area for kids. There are also many ponds and lakes throughout the parks. If you want a pool, head to All Sport in Fishkill.
