"Friendly forested country road"
Many residents have lived here for 30 or more years. Evenly split between family vacation homes and full-time residents Houses are well mantained with one notable exception that had a recent fire. The homes are typical "Mountain Eclectic" in that they range from tiny weekenders to very very large estate type homes with everything inbetween. The biggest plus is the quiet. You can hear the squirels playing in the pines. The biggest minus is the streets are narrow and parking can be an issue when people come to play in the snow. Crime is low, but unoccupied vacation homes can be a target for break-ins. Fire danger is high, but steps are being taken to reduce the danger, ie. thinning of vegatation at the ground level, triming of trees to well above the ground, building of community fire breaks (saved us from the Grass Valley Fire) and mandatory pine needle removal from the lots in the Spring time. I have lived here since 1974 and love it. Easy commute down the mountain from here.
