"another "unique" street in "Unique" bremerton"
D street is both like all the other streets in bremerton and also different at the same time.
The other streets in the neighborhood are, in fact, labeled by different letters making it easy to distinct from each of them and also making it very easy to navigate them. Yet like all neighborhoods it's mostly just another line of houses.
One difference are the unique things next to and in the street.
First, Cain Custom Auto Body is planted on the west side of the street and is more quiet than you may think an auto body is. While when you frequently pass it you'll see that it isn't that busy as it should be. But when you do see it up and running you'll be pleasantly surprised to see the antique cars being worked on as well as the workers in their uniform walking around.
The gas station, which names escapes at the moment, is literally on the other side of the street. It doubles as a station for oxygen gas where many medical vehicles and other automobiles come to fill tanks, and a store for work supplies.
Both businesses are fairly quiet and don't come in the way of traffic or the quiet. Yet when they are in the way, you will notice. On the Cain custom side you sometimes rarely drive into them trying to load a truck with they're cars. On the gas business's side you may encounter the occasional humongous truck loading many trucks, or even the truck driving out. Overall all though the businesses keep to themselves and never really effect the neighborhood side of things.
While that takes care of the 2 big differences of this street and others, the rest of things seem much the same. All neighbors are very nice and friendly and i have never in my life seen anyone have an actual dispute between neighbors over anything property or noise related.
Though when you do drive through, or walk through, this street you will see a fairly above average amount of dogs. I have counted, as well as my own, 7 dogs on this street with some being overly noisy. Overall though they won't be much of a problem from day to day. I can say at least once a week i can hear dogs barking and howling for more than i want them to.
Now for more about the surrounding neighborhood.
The west sound improvement club has facilities open to rent and use, with bingo even on every week. It has a fairly large parking lot, and the park next to it is fairly old and is very questionable, yet still usable, especially their swings. It also has a fairly questionable basket ball court, use at your own risk.
You can see that the street is fairly close to west hills elementary, a local elementary school that is only about 4 blocks away. The disturbances of kids will vary from the time you get home and the time school gets out/in. The schools field also has a humongous grass fields in the back along with 2 baseball diamond set-ups, yet they are bare bones at best. It also has a fairly interesting wood chip play park (i like to call it the "big kid park"), a little bit more imaginative "Little Kid" Park, and a not-up-to-regulation-because-it's-on-a-slight-slope basketball court. As well as other set ups for 4 square, tether ball, as well as other more obscure games.
There is also a VERY good local burger joint that is very good due to their nostalgic ways of cooking and ordering. In that area there is also a quarter operated laundromat and local convenience store run by a VERY friendly family staff.
Overall, a word i might be overusing, the surrounding neighborhood is fairly rich with many different and unique businesses and parks that make it unique in there own right, which adds to the overall unique street.
