"Welcome to the twilight zone..."
I was driving home around 11 PM one night from the East Bay, and was looking to grab a bite to eat (which, by the way, is almost impossible to do on 880 late at night). After several failed attempts, our eyes settled on the shopping center in Union City, and we decided on TGI Friday's (I think this was a Tuesday night).
Well, after being carded by the bouncer, we decided to site in the bar section, not because we wanted to, but because it was the only section available. The D.J. was spinning hip-hop, and the mid-20s local crowd seemed to be digging it. Go figure.
It was Friday's food and beer - not good, not bad, but decent. I was actually pretty amused by the whole situation, but would not go back for the nightlife anytime soon.
