"What is it with this neighborhood?"
There are two pretty buildings right on the corner of 30th and Lex but they're taken up by Church and School because heaven forbid there be a nice looking building that wasn't either one of those in this neighborhood. The rest of the block is all boring looking apartment buildings and even more boring looking commercial buildings. Restaurants, bars or fun activities . . .forget it. The next block, after Park, there are a couple of little eateries and a deli and such but there aren't any restaurants here either. There is an animal hospital should you be in need. And, there is a shady hotel that used to be a nightclub and a couple of apartment buildings . . snore.
The block between Madison and 5th has one kinda cool looking restaurant but I'm not taking any chances in this part of town. And, outside of that, there are a whole lot of rug shops. Seriously, the entire block is taken up with rug shops -- I don't know why similar specialty shops always congregate on the same block in this city. It doesn't sound very 5th Avenue does it? The rug block . . .
East 30th is just as uneventful as you would expect it to be. And, it's not exactly cheap either. I'm not sure what brokers must say to get people to live here. There's nothing to do and absolutely no energy. I just don't get it.

"The Opposite of Lacking"
In the wealth of things to do in this neighborhood, you will not feel like anything is lacking on this block. For shoe shopping try Lord John's Bootery or Annte shoes for a more vintage selection. For nightlife, go to Desmond's Tavern for a cheap beet. I think this is a good street to come home to as there is a little bit of something for everyone!
This street is easily accessible and filled with common amenities! Take a trip, especially to the Park Ave. area!
