"Busy Commercial Street"
This is definitely not the residential spot to live in Mountain View - with proximity to the 101 and home to several large shopping plazas, it is more of a commercial drag and an eyesore than a town fixture. The street begins at the 101 junction and works its way west through this working-class-turned-Silicon Valley-hub town. The shopping on here is more automotive supply, fast food, and large discount retailer (Best Buy, for one) than the glamor of the shops in nearby Palo Alto, although REI is a fixture, as it is the only one between San Carlos and San Jose.
Further west, the street becomes more of a means of transportation across town. It gets more residential, but intersects with El Camino Real, which in normal human terms means that the traffic is not going to ever be great. It is also a bit difficult to get to from the 101, as the nearby exit is not intuitive. But, for all intents and purposes, it does not claim to be one of the finer streets in the Bay Area. This street really has nothing terrible remarkable about it one way or another.
